Q: Do I need an authorization or referral from my primary care physician to see a psychiatrist or therapist?
A: No. An authorization or referral from your primary care physician is not required for an office visit. Other services need authorization. Learn more about Preauthorization for Outpatient Services.
Q: What if my therapist or psychiatrist is not a provider for Behavioral Health Partners. Are there out-of-network benefits?
A: Yes. The plan pays 50 percent of usual and customary fees after your co-pay. To find out the range for what is usual and customary, call United Medical Resources (UMR) toll-free 888.252.6926. Learn more about United Medical Resources. The provider needs to be on the panel for Behavioral Health Partners, not Healthlink. The medical provider is HealthLink.
Q: Where can I find a provider?
A: Go to Provider Directory Search. There, you can locate a provider by age of member needing services or by ZIP.
Q: What hospitals are in the Behavioral Health Partners' network?
A: Go to Inpatient and Partial Hospitalization Services.
Q: I don't see my provider in the Provider Directory. How do I get my provider added to the Network Panel?
A: Additions to the Network Panel are based on need. A regular analysis is conducted to determine Network Panel adequacy. At this time, we are only accepting applications from psychiatrists and collaborating advanced practice nurses who meet geographical and treatment specialty needs. If you feel your provider meets this criteria, have them contact us.
